This Psalm was probably written by David when he was being hunted down by King Saul. As David fled and hid from Saul, he knew that God who chose and anointed him to be King over Israel was a righteous God who would deliver him and honor him.

If our security is in anything or anyone other than God, we will be disappointed.

​

Nonetheless, when the Lord is our refuge here's what we will have.

- Peace and rest from the world's anxieties and burdens

- Protection from dangers, temptations and allurement to sin

- Strength and confidence to handle difficult situations

- The unwavering love of the Lord which is so unlike unstable human affection.

​

Have a lovely day, knowing that in a tumultuous world, our safest place of refuge is in the Lord.
