Initially the Egyptians and Israelites were going through the same plagues until the Lord intervened to make a clear distinction between the two groups. The plagues ravaged the Egyptians, but none of it touched the Israelites who were in Goshen, which was a part of Egypt.

As children of God who have put our faith in Jesus Christ, people should see this distinction because we are a people set apart for the Lord.

Our words, attitudes, actions, reactions, values, desires should let everyone know that we belong to the Lord.
