The metaphor of God as the Potter and we, the clay has deep meaning.

In Genesis, we read that God formed man from the dust of the ground. The Hebrew word used there (Aphar) pictures a potter shaping a physical object, and breathing life into it. This reminds us that God is our creator and without His breath in us we would have no life.

The clay in the potter's hand also reminds us that God is shaping us, and the more we yield to His will, the easier it would be for Him to fulfill His purposes in and through our lives.

Even when the clay is marred in the hands of the potter, He can still remold and make us into useful vessels, if we will permit Him to do so.
Have a lovely day, and let's remain soft and pliable, until the work of God is completed in us.
