Pilate was a Roman Governor who had no idea who Jesus was. Nonetheless, he was wise enough to understand that the Jewish religious leaders had handed Jesus over just because they were envious of Him.

Envy is a subtle emotion and it is so deep-seated that without God's help and the Holy Spirit's searching we cannot identify and deal with it.

If we can't rejoice when others do well, get promotions and are applauded for their accomplishments, but rather find fault and try to belittle others, we sure have this problem of envy within us.

Have a happy day, and remember a sure cure for envy is to not compare with others, but rather be grateful to God for who we are and all we've got.
